Under the influence of the American foreign policy of moral idealism and the policy of "invigorating evangelism" and "self-reliance",American protestant missionaries came to the Philippines to spread Protestantism.The missionaries targeted Chinese and Igorot as the focus of the mission,overcoming the shortage of funds and personnel,and actively carrying out missionary activities.In the process of missionary work,through the preparation of the school to teach the local young children the vocational skills,to help them better employment,at the same time in the customs to them more guidance.The establishment of clinics and comprehensive hospitals,as well as the treatment of patients,also convey a healthy lifestyle to the Filipinos and the proper treatment of some diseases.Finally,it has a certain influence on the living habits and social features of the native people of the Philippines.
