English reading and writing are a pair of language skills which are integrated and indispensable mutually.However,limited by today s educational situation of utilitarianism,material of English reading mostly lacks in literature appreciation and analysis,and English writing,the part which should have been combined with English reading,has been isolated aside.And as a result,what senior students have written mostly contains Chinglish expressions,While The English Curriculum Standards(2003)has made specific requirements that with the help of teachers,students should be able to appreciate and read simple literature works and originals,this situation is on the opposite side.Therefore,by "integrating reading in writing",this thesis introduces literature reading into senior classes in order that literature will be brought into English classes and the negative transfer of vocabulary,sentence and discourse will be reduced.For sake of exploring the effectiveness of literature reading in reducing the negative transfer of mother tongue,students in the experimental class are taught with "integrating reading in writing" in their reading classes.And the result shows that after one-term "integrating reading in writing" teaching in the experimental class and one-term ordinary teaching in controlled class,students in experimental class turn out to better improve the negative transfer in vocabulary,sentence and discourse.And the improvement in negative transfer of vocabulary is obvious. |
