A Study On The Marbled Texture Ceramics

As the most unique star of many kinds of ceramics in our country,the marbled texture ceramics is different from other ceramics on the surface of the ware by glazing,painting,carving and pasting techniques.In order to achieve the purpose of adornment and beautification,the marbled texture ceramics uses different colors porcelain mud to knead together before forming,and then makes its pattern fully unfold in the forming process.The marbled texture ceramics uses white-and-brown tonal mud to blend together,and then molded.The two kinds of ceramic slime are not easy to combine perfectly,easy to crack in the process of firing,so the success rate is very low.Due to the difficulty of processing and the low success rate of manufacture,the quantity of marbled texture ceramics is scarce,the archaeological materials are lacking,and the related research is not rich.According to the data the author had,at least in the Tang Dynasty,the marbled texture ceramics has been paid attention to the world,and its appearance will even be as early as the Han Dynasty in China.The making-process is also likely to Western glass-making techniques.The appearance of the marbled texture ceramics in Tang Dynasty reflects the spirit of handcrafts-man and also increases the choice of ceramic decoration techniques.As a wonderful work in the traditional porcelain-making process,the marbled texture ceramics was first revealed in the Tang Dynasty,reached the peak in the Song Dynasty,gradually declined after the Jin and Yuan Dynasties,and basically disappeared in the Ming and Qing dynasties.At the same time,it is a cultural heritage urgent to protection today society.In this paper,the author studied the appearance time,process source,device type,pattern,making technology,spatial distribution and function of the marbled texture ceramics in each period and the development of the marbled texture ceramics is summed up.The marbled texture ceramics originally should be used as a burial object,the utensils for pillows,bowls,cups,figurines,cans and so on.To the Song Dynasty,its function gradually changed to the practical instrument,in the instrument type,decoration,texture,function andother aspects are different.Finally,the war was frequent in the Jin-Yuan period,a large number of kiln workers moved to the south,and the manufacture of the marbled texture ceramics was greatly affected,and began to decline.During the Ming and Qing dynasties,the center of gravity of porcelain industry moved to the south,porcelain varieties became more and more rich,under the impact of new porcelain,the marbled texture ceramics gradually disappeared.Until modern times,with the efforts of many ceramic craftsmen,this traditional technique was gradually restored.But at present,the academic research on the marbled texture ceramics is not rich and comprehensive,and the acceptance of the marbled texture ceramics in the modern market is not high.This article hope can provide reference and reference for the future protection and development of this cultural heritage though use the archaeology method and the cultural heritage protection angle combined with the development situation of the modern marbled texture ceramics.
