Research On The Influencing Factors Of China's Domestic Movie Box Office

By investigating the data of 176 domestic movies released in 2015 and 2016,which are independent variables of the season,sequel,movie type,the number of released days,internet comments,internet scores,names of the movies and movie stars of baidu index average and the most value released in the first week of baidu index,we build the system of main factors affecting the movie box office.With a combination of the method of multivariate linear regression modeling for movie box office study empirically,and the hierarchical regression method to verify the moderating effect of star power for douban scores and box office,we find that the movie's sequel,season,number of days,internet comments,names of the movie and the star of baidu index are significantly positively related to the box office,but the internet scores are significantly negative related to the box office.These results indicate that fan economy causes huge contribution to box office.For the movies with low scores,choosing super star and raising the awareness of star and the movie can improve the movie box office.
