Li Bai culture is one of the most important cultural resources in Ma'anshan. In the late 1980s,with the initiation and organization of a group of young poetry fans,Ma'anshan began to hold the International Poetry Festival. After 30 years of ups and downs, the Chinese Li Bai Poetry Festival in Ma'anshan grew steadily. From singing poems to holding a series of recreational activities such as singing, dancing, reciting and traveling,it exerted a certain influence at home and abroad and gradually became a saddle.A beautiful city cultural card in Ma'anshan.Nowadays, with the rapid development of globalization and urbanization, the important role of media has become increasingly prominent. As a bridge between cities and citizens, media plays an important role in urban cultural identity. The media event of Li Bai Poetry Festival, which contains factors to improve the city's cultural identity, has become a good opportunity for local media to report. While newspapers report on the festival, they also construct the city's cultural identity. This study selected two local newspapers in Ma'anshan from 2011 to 2018 to report on Li Bai's Poetry Festival:203 reports from Ma'anshan Daily,a local Party newspaper, and 112 reports from Wanjiang Evening News,a metropolitan newspaper(a total of 315 reports). The samples were analyzed by means of literature research and content analysis. It is found that the theme of Li Bai's Poetry Festival has always been set on the agenda of reporting in the past ten years.Starting from the aspects of reporting form, reporting content and media development activities, the paper makes a comprehensive analysis of how the two newspapers combine the theme of Li Bai's Poetry Festival with urban development and citizen's life so as to build a city.Cultural identity. At the same time,in order to fully understand the urban cultural identity of citizens, this study conducted questionnaires and interviews with newspaper readers and citizens of different ages and occupations.A total of 152 valid questionnaires were collected.Eight respondents were selected for semi-structured interviews to understand the audience's awareness, emotional attitudes and participation in the Li Bai Poetry Festival and its media reports. The effect of media on the audience and the problems in the process of constructing cultural identity by reporting.Combining the questionnaire data and interview data,we can see that cultural literacy, sense of locality and citizen participation are the main factors affecting urban cultural identity. The cultural identity of Ma'anshan city under the media discourse is the media recording and carrying cultural memory, and extending social value from the cultural landscape of poetry.By reporting this event, citizens'sense of belonging and identity to the city can be enhanced. That is to say,the report constructs the cultural identity of the city from three levels of cognition, emotion and behavior, and shows the unique and strong cultural atmosphere of Ma'anshan's poetry and poetry. The collective memory of Ma'anshan's present and past as well as the cultural cohesion generated in the festival will ultimately achieve cultural identity. The media inherits the history and culture of the city, absorbs the connotation from the spirit of the city, and ultimately promotes the development of the city and society. In this process, the media plays a role of bridge and link, guiding the two-way communication and benign interaction between people and the city. The author believes that this study provides a typical case of mass media urban cultural construction, which takes the opportunity of large-scale events. From this point of view,we can understand the way and process of media construction of urban cultural identity. It is hoped that this study will provide some references and help for the media to better enhance citizens'urban cultural identity and promote social development.
