As a mirror of society,documentary has an unshirkable responsibility in observing the reality of Chinese countryside.By presenting the countryside and writing peasants,documentaries let more people know the countryside and pay attention to the fate of the peasants,Which has important social significance and value.According to the identity of the documentary creator and the way of producing the documentary,this paper divides the documentary of rural and peasant subjects into two types:Institutional documentary and Independent documentary.The two types of documentary creators face the rural prospect with different perspectives,expressions and presentations.The individualized expression of independent documentaries tends to record peasants'living conditions.It has its own unique insights into the image of peasants,some of the peasants who have the subjective consciousness are vividly presented.The Institutional documentary describe the village from a larger perspective,which focus on its spread value.Through the means of image to spread the traditional village culture and deep nostalgia,it also shows its own value in shaping the image of the new countryside.In order to provide some references for the future creation and dissemination of Country and Peasant theme documentary,this paper gives an intensive analysis of two types of documentary's texts,summarizing their different views and the values of transmission to the rural landscape and the image of farmers and analyzing their strengths and weaknesses.
