With the rapid development of China's economy,the general public is no longer only satisfied with the pursuit of material culture,art as a product of spiritual culture,the market demand for art is gradually improving.At this stage,in order to make China's watercolor industry develop better,all art colleges and universities need to cultivate young watercolor art talents who adapt to the Chinese contemporary art environment.Therefore,there is an urgent need to improve the current watercolor teaching mode and establish a teaching system suitable for students' all-round development.This is the result of continuous efforts of various art schools in contemporary China.The development of watercolor cannot be inconsistent.In the teaching process of watercolor,teachers should encourage students to innovate,so that students' works have a unique style,and correctly guide students not to go to the "extreme" of creation.In addition,teachers should allow students to freely play and actively explore in the process of student creation,but also let students know what elements should be included in the creation,and which are the “dead roads” in the creation,so that students can establish the correct watercolor.Artistic creation concept.Nowadays,the main problem of watercolor teaching in colleges and universities in China is that students who have just entered the campus and have little contact with watercolor can not specifically recognize the process of watercolor painting in the process of professional learning,which may not be possible on the road of exploration.Losing the love of art in the confusion,it is also possible to develop into a "conceptual supremacy",contempt or abandon the training of techniques,or go to the "naturalistic" road of "being only skills",and these two "extreme" Greatly wasting students' artistic career.Although there is no shortcut to art,it is necessary to gradually complete itself in the exploration,but some "detours" or even "dead roads" should be avoided.As a watercolor education practitioner,students should have a correct guidance.The "balance" in the teaching of watercolor discussed in this paper is not the "moderation of the mean" in ancient Chinese philosophy,but the balance between "randomness" and "necessity" in the technique of watercolor painting;"rationality" and "sensibility" in concept Balance;the balance between "concepts" and "techniques" in creation.
