High school is a critical period in the process of personal growth.Self-differentiation and parent-child triangle relationship are two core concepts in Bowen's family system theory. In the family system, the relationship among the individual and the father and the mother is usually presented in a form of a triangular relationship of parent and child.Self-esteem is an important personality trait and an important criterion for measuring mental health. There are many studies about the relationship between parent-child triangle and self-differentiation,parent-child triangle and self-esteem,self-differentiation and self-esteem.but there is not many studies on the relationship among these three. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the relationship among the dimensions of parent-child triangle relationship(the scapegoat,cross-generation alliance and parentification),self-differentiation and self-esteem.This study used a questionnaire survey to measure the Parent-Child Relationship Scale,Self-Esteem Scale, and Self-Division Scale for 423 high school students in Harbin City,Heilongjiang Province, and Zhengzhou City,Henan Province. The data is collected through correlation analysis, regression analysis,t-test,variance analysis, structural equation modeling and other statistical methods. Conclusions are as follows:1.The tendencies of high school students in parent-child triangle relationship(the scapegoat,cross-generation alliance and parentalization)are not obvious. The scores of the high school students' parent-child triangle relationship(the scapegoat, the cross-generation alliance and the parentalization)have significant differences in grades. The score about the place of residence between parent-child dimension and parent-child triangle relationship dimension have significant difference in high school students.2.High school students have higher levels of self-esteem,and their self-esteem have significant differences in different family structures.3.High school students have a significant correlation among the dimensions of parent-child triangle(the scapegoat,cross-generation alliance and parentalization),self-differentiation and self-esteem.There is a significant positive correlation among self-differentiation and self-esteem;and a significant positive correlation among parentalization and self-differentiation and self-esteem;and a significant negative correlation between scapegoats and self-differentiation and self-esteem;a significant negative correlation among cross-generation alliance and self-differentiation and self-esteem.4.The parent-child dimension of the high school students' parent-child relationship has a positive predictive effect on self-esteem;the scapegoat and the intergenerational alliance have a negative predictive effect on self-esteem.5.Self-differentiation plays a partial intermediary role in the parent-child triangle relationship and self-esteem,and the three dimensions of the personal triangle relationship(the scapegoat, the cross-generation alliance and the parentalization)have significant indirect effects on self-esteem through self-differentiation.
