Since the twenty-first Century,Information Technology has made a spurt of progress.In order to meet the changing needs of society and students,the education field has also been continuously changing.A new teaching model was put forward —The flipped classroom.The flipped classroom has overturned the traditional teaching model,whose main feature is that students are required to learn new knowledge independently before class,complete the internalization of knowledge under the guidance of teachers in class,and check and summarize new knowledge points independently after class.One of its advantages is to enhance the students' autonomous learning ability.The new curriculum reform puts forward higher standards for students and enlarges their learning tasks.Therefore,for the elementary education,it is significant to promote students' autonomous learning ability by flipped classroom.However,the present empirical research on autonomous learning ability of senior high school students in the flipped English classroom is quite inadequate.Therefore,through implementing the English flipped classroom of senior high school,this study explores the specific changes of students' autonomous learning ability,which is of great value to the development of the flipped classroom teaching model and the cultivation of students' autonomous learning ability in English.In this study,the author combines quantitative research with qualitative research,using questionnaires,interviews and classroom observation methods to explore whether the flipped classroom teaching model can improve senior high school students' autonomous learning ability in English,if it can be improved,in what way will it be reflected.The author takes two classes of a key senior high school in Harbin as the research object,chooses one class as the experimental class,carries on the teaching experiment for four months,while the other class as the control class,still uses the traditional teaching model to teach.The author sent questionnaires to the students in the two classes before and after the experiment,collected data and analyzed them by SPSS19.0.After the experiment,some of the students in the experimental class were interviewed at random and analyzed with the help of classroom observation results,so as to draw conclusions.The results show that the flipped classroom teaching model can improve the students' autonomous learning ability of senior high school students.And the flipped classroom improves students' autonomous learning ability in terms of the following six aspects: English learning motivation,English learning time,English learning methods,English learning process,English learning results and English learning environment.Finally,the author based on the study provides some reference and teaching inspiration for the future research.
