Reading ability is an important index to measure students' ability of language use and thinking comprehension,and if students have a high level of reading ability,on the one hand,it makes students understand the main idea of the article in a short time,and on the other hand,it guides students to apply what they have learned and integrate old and new knowledge,thus the students' comprehensive English ability will be promoted.At present,the teaching mode of English reading in senior high schools in China tends to be diversified,but the effect is not satisfactory.There are still some shortcomings such as slow reading speed and obstacles to understanding when students encounter new words.From the perspective of interactive teaching method,the author attempts to explore the impact of interactive teaching method on senior high school English reading teaching,and the author explores innovative points in senior high school English reading teaching.Initially,the interactive teaching method was put forward by Palinksa on the basis of Scaffolding Teaching theory.Unlike the traditional reading teaching,the interactive teaching method abandoned the explanation of reading materials word by word.Teachers guided students to understand the materials from different perspectives and made students react more constructively,which provided new ideas for senior high school English reading teaching.This study attempts to test two questions:?.Can interactive teaching improve senior high school students' English reading performance??.Can interactive teaching improve students' interest in English reading in senior high schools?The innovation of this study lies in increasing the frequency of interaction between teachers and students in class,trying to help teachers and students establish a new type of teacher-student relationship,increasing the evaluation between students and students,and trying to improve students' ability to use English reading strategies through mutual evaluation among team members and supervision of task completion.The subjects of this study are two parallel classes of the first grade of a key senior high school in Harbin.Each class has 45 students.One class is chosen as the experimental class.The interactive teaching method is used to carry out a three-month English reading teaching experiment.The other class is the control class,and the reading teaching is carried out according to the previous teaching mode.By analyzing the reading scores of the two classes before and after the experiment through SPSS,it is concluded that the interactive teaching method can improve the reading performance of senior high school students.Then,according to the questionnaire data of the two classes before and after the experiment,it is found that the interactive teaching method can improve the students' interest in English reading in Senior High School.
