On-site immersive visualization can place visualization views into real world,express the spatial properties of data,and provide a better stereo environment for enhancing the understanding of real scene and gathering insight.And with the developing of technology,it is available with optical see-through head-mounted devices.On the other hand,worldwide ancient murals suffer from various degradations related to compound environmental factors requiring interdisciplinary researches.On-site immersive visualization is able to integrate the on-site investigation and data analysis and improve the analysis efficiency for mural degradation analyzers,In this paper,I present a novel mixed reality,on-site immersive mural degradation visualization solution for analyzing relevance between degradation and environment data.Furthermore,this solution includes four optimization techniques,on-site immersive,such as accuracy mixed location with feature cognition,a rapid,simple,low-cost and interactive method of degradation annotation,3D radar and warning mechanism for degradation pattern analysis.To demonstrate the visualization solution and the annotation method,three application results with real data from Mogao Grottoes and domain-expert feedback are given.The solution is on-site,immersive oriented and integrates secure designs for heritages.It is flexible and effective to provide a better data analysis environment than conventional planar visualizations,also provides a promising way to change work styles.
