With the rapid development of professional education and the demand for high-quality technical talents,the promotion of professional education becomes an important content of educational development in China.Keeping “professional” features,vocational colleges can be precise in the position of professional education.English teaching undertakes two aspects of functions,basic language education and vocational skills education,in vocational colleges.In the context of “2030 China Healthy Plan”,this study expects to improve the quality of English teaching and make a modest contribution to the cultivation of interdisciplinary nursing talents who have professional knowledge,foreign language skills and overall cultural accomplishments.At present,the studies of foreign language learning motivation in China have entered a relatively stable and diversified period.However,there are fewer studies on motivational strategies of English learning in the English education and research field of vocational colleges,especially for nursing students.Likewise,no mature and authoritative theoretical systems have been formed.The close integration of vocational college,nursing students and English learning motivation is the starting point of this study.This can not only enrich the research results,but also provide some new perspectives and ideas for the close combination English teaching research and a specific major.In addition,in the previous research results,there is no clear distinction between students' learning strategies,teachers' teaching strategies,and school-level strategies,so these are the direction and foothold of this study.This study consists of seven chapters and a conclusion.Chapter one demonstrates the research background,purpose and significance mentioned above.Chapter two and three mainly adopt the literature analysis method to summarize research results on foreign language learning motivation and relevant theoretical basis.Chapter four profiles the situations of English teaching in vocational colleges,Heilongjiang Nursing College and its Nursing Specialty,which are aimed at making subsequent empirical studies more targeted.Chapter five and six adopt the methods of questionnaire survey,depth interview and data analysis.Combining qualitative and quantitative methods,this study can obtain information from multiple ways and perspectives,improve the research process,and make the research results more comprehensive and scientific.The questionnaire is specifically designed for nursing students.The method of cluster sampling is applied to the nursing students of Heilongjiang Nursing College.After that,SPSS software is used to analyze and process valid questionnaire data,mainly adopting the Frequency Analysis,Reliability Analysis,Factor Analysis and One-sample T Test to survey respondents' demographic information,test the reliability and validity of the questionnaire,extract common factors,and analyze attribution patterns.In addition,interviews with 12 English teachers of Heilongjiang Nursing College can obtain relevant information from the perspective of teachers,which can make up for the limitations of depth in questionnaire survey.Moreover the interview and questionnaire results can replenish and verify with each other.In chapter seven,according to the results of empirical research,eleven strategies to motivate English learning motivation are respectively proposed from the perspectives of students' learning,teachers' teaching and school-level.These strategies are designed to fully stimulate learners' initiative,meet personalized learning needs,make teachers more effective in each teaching process,and enable schools to provide targeted escort for English teaching and learning.Finally,conclusion part summarizes and reflects the research.This study is a preliminary exploration of the strategies to motivate nursing students' English learning motivation,and is hoped to play the role of inspiration and reference for English teaching and research in similar colleges.
