| In daily life, people often need to judge the value of an item.People can judge the value of an object by comparing the object’s simple and easily understandable characteristics, such as quantity and quality. However, there are many studies that show that people sometimes have a certain degree of irrationality in the process of making value judgments, ignoring the characteristics of the number of objects and causing Insensitivity to Scope.Using the psychological models of the double-assessment process—valuation by calculations and evaluation by feelings—proposed by Hsee and Rottenstreich to explain how people judge the assessment process can well explain the phenomenon of insensitivity to scope.Since then, few researchers have verified this model, but many researchers use this model to explain people’s value judgments,so it is necessary to prove the rationality of this model. At the same time, exploring the factors that influence computational evaluation and sentiment evaluation within the framework of this model can also deepen our understanding of the model. The purpose of experiment 1 was to verify the existence of Insensitivity to Scope and to try to explore the reasons for the Insensitivity to Scope, and to provide direction for explaining this phenomenon.Due to differences in assessment methods, the phenomenon of quantity neglect was caused.Experiments were conducted using 2(starting materials: affective starting materials, calculating starting materials)× 2(CD number: 5,10).Participants were required to complete the money-decision task in the simulated situation. The results of experiments 2 is that: participants who read and completed the calculation startup materials, the amount they are willing to pay for purchasing five CDs is significantly greater than the amount they are willing to pay for the purchase of 10 CDs.Second, participants who read and completed the emotional startup materials purchase 5 There is no significant difference between the amount the CD is willing to pay and the amount it is willing to pay for buying 10 CDs.The experimental results verify the existence of quantitative neglect and provide a good idea for explaining this phenomenon.Experiment 2 still takes the form of a money-decision task under a simulated situation. The SEM verifies the rationality of the psychological model of the double assessment process, making the interpretation of the results of Experiment 1 more reasonable. The experimental results show that the experimental data is in good agreement with the theoretical model, which shows that the psychological model of the dual evaluation process is reasonable and provides good empirical support for the previous theoretical research.Experiment 3 explored the factors affecting the psychological model of the doubleassessment process on the basis of experiments 1 and 2 deeply, and explored the factors that influence people’s assessment methods(whether relying on emotional assessment or reliance on computational assessment)for making money decisions. The experiment takes 2(time distance: present,6 months later)× 2(compensation amount: low, high)the test room design. The dependent variable is the subject’s attractiveness score for the reward method. The experimental results show that compared with the current participation in the experiment and the rewards, participants’ attractiveness scores for participating in the experiment in 6 months later and getting paid are more likely to be affected by the amount of compensation, which to a certain extent verifies the impact of experimental psychological distance. The assumption of the assessment method is that as the psychological distance increases, individuals rely more on the calculation process to evaluate the value of the object and make decisions. The results of this study indicate the reasonable of the psychological model of the double assessment process. It is feasible to use the double evaluation process to explain the phenomenon of Insensitivity to Scope and the psychological distance can affect people’s assessment methods. |
