Early education at the age of 0-3 has a far-reaching impact on children's life-long development.Behavioral problems of young children during this period are persistent in later stages of development, and they can predict social maladjustment in adolescents and adults.During the period of 2-3 years old, children mainly live in the family.Family factors, especially the caregivers, are very important for the development of children.Among the variables related to behavioral problems of children aged 2-3,there is a lack of discussion on co-caregivers and co-parenting relationship.By using the methods of literature and questionnaires, this study investigates the basic situation of 276 2-3-year-old infant caregivers and the behavior problems of 2-3-year-old children in S city, and analyzes the relationship between co-parenting and behavioral problems of 2-3-year-old infants in Shanghai. The results show that:(1)The type of co-parental grouping of 2-3 year-old children in Shanghai is :the related parent-grandparent(38.4%)>parent-parent(32.6%)> in-law parent-grandparent(27.2%)>marital grandparent-grandparent(1.8%)> in-law grandparent-grandparent(0%)in turn.More than half(65.6%)of the families have the situation that grandparents and fathers raise children together.Data analysis shows that the identity combination of co-caregivers has no significant effect on behavioral problems of children aged 2-3 years.(2)Among the behavioral problems of children aged 2-3,the frequency of destructive behavior is the highest and the frequency of somatic complaint is the lowest.Extroversion is more than introversion. There are significant differences in the variables of parents' monthly gross income and educational background of co-nurses in children's behavioral problems. The lower the total monthly income of parents, the higher the frequency of behavioral problems among children aged2-3.Among families with highly educated parents(graduate students and above),(3)children have the lowest frequency of behavioral problems.(4)Among the positive dimensions of co-parenting relationship, the level of parenting acceptance is the highest and the level of parenting consistency is the lowest. In the negative dimension, the level of parenting damage was higher than that of conflict exposure. There are significant differences in the total monthly income of parents, educational background, identity, gender and age variables of children in co-parenting relationship and each dimension. The higher the total monthly income of parents, the more positive the quality of co-parenting relationship.(5)There was a significant negative correlation between the overall co-parenting relationship of 2-3-year-old children and the overall behavioral problems of2-3-year-old children as well as all dimensions. The higher the quality of co-parenting relationship, the less behavioral problems children aged 2-3 have.Through stepwise multivariate regression analysis,we get the standardized regression equation: Behavioral problems of children aged 2-3 years old = 0.301* parenting undermining +(-0.203)* parenting closeness. To sum up,different from most previous studies, the results of this study show that co-parenting status has no significant effect on behavioral problems of children aged 2-3 years. The two most important factors affecting the co-parenting relationship and the behavioral problems of children aged 2-3 are the parents' income and the educations of the caregivers.
