The factors that influence the canonization of Catholicism, that is,the external influences on the canonization of saints by the Pope, are various.By studying the factors that influence the canonization of Catholicism,we can understand the background of canonization in different times, the relationship between church and state and the theological thought, and also better understand canonization. As one of the most important activities of Catholicism, canonization has a significant impact on the relationship between countries.A deep understanding of the factors that influence the sanctification of the Catholic church is conducive to a better relationship with the Catholic world. The canonization of the Pope began in 993 AD.But the canonization was not entirely in the hands of the Pope.In 1170,Alexander III declared that saints could be worshipped only with the approval of the Pope, who gradually took control of the canonization.Although the power of canonization is controlled by the Pope, canonization of saints is not determined by the Pope's personal will, but influenced by many aspects. The effects vary from time to time.Based on the typical cases of canonization in the 12 th and 16 th centuries, this paper discusses the factors affecting canonization from the aspects of social factors, political factors, economic factors, time factors, procedural factors and regional factors, theology factors.
