Study On The Spatial Layout Of Cotton Textile Industry In The Pearl River Basin In The Early 1930s

In the early 1930 s,China’s modern industry developed at a higher level.Scholars in academic circles called this stage the second "golden period" for the development of Chinese national capitalism.As one of the basic industries in China’s modern industrial development,the cotton textile industry has shown obvious regional characteristics during this period of development.Compared with the Yangtze River Basin where the cotton textile industry is developed,the Pearl River Basin is not a concentrated area for cotton production,but the cotton textile industry has unique regional development characteristics.Based on the integration of a large number of survey statistics,this paper analyzes the output value of cotton industry,cotton spinning industry and cotton industry in the Pearl River Basin cotton textile industry in the early 1930 s,and analyzes this under the support of GIS technology.The characteristics of the spatial layout of the cotton textile industry in the Pearl River Basin during the first period.This paper mainly uses the quantitative analysis method to quantitatively analyze the upper,middle and lower reaches of the Pearl River Basin from the provincial level and the county level.The upper reaches are represented by Yunnan and Guizhou,the middle reaches is represented by Guangxi,and the downstream is represented by Guangxi.Guangdong is the representative.From the analysis of the full-text analysis of the data of the output value and output of the cotton textile industry in the local watersheds,in the cotton industry,the production of peanuts in the Pearl River Basin is far behind other parts of the country,and it belongs to the cotton-producing areas in China.The distribution is scattered and cannot form a concentrated cotton producing area.In the cotton spinning industry,the mechanism cotton yarn and the hand-made cotton yarn are separated.In the middle and lower reaches of the Pearl River,Guangdong and Guangxi provinces have a small amount of mechanism cotton yarn production,which is better than industrialization.In the upper reaches of the Pearl River,but in the upper reaches of the Pearl River,Yunnan and Guizhou rely on the conditions of market linkage,the mechanism cotton yarn is imported into the local area,as a raw material of the cotton textile industry,it shows a strong substitution for the hand-made cotton yarn,and the cotton textile industry in the upstream area has changed its raw materials.In the cotton industry,the upper reaches of the Pearl River formed a cotton-dyed center during this period.The cotton production was considerable,and the industry showed significant proliferation.However,the industrialization level of cotton production was relatively backward,mainly based on manual production;in Guangxi and Guangdong provinces.During the period of the middle and lower reaches of the representative,there was a cotton factory,especially the downstream Guangdong area.Formed to Guangzhou as the core,radiation to the surrounding industrial phenomenon.During this period,the development of the cotton textile industry in the Pearl River Basin was completely different from that in the Yangtze River Basin.Obviously,according to the water-line production method of cotton-cotton yarn-cotton cloth,it cannot be implemented in the Pearl River basin.According to the research in this paper,the overall characteristics of the cotton textile industry layout in the Pearl River Basin show a state of proliferation and non-development.The main factors contributing to this situation are the continuous strengthening of the regional transportation network in the Pearl River Basin and the production of traditional cotton textile industry.The radiation effect,the supply of raw materials in the upper reaches of the Pearl River under the market linkage,and the policy support of the national government and the provincial government under the economic crisis.The conclusion of this study is of great significance for understanding the modern industrialization of the Pearl River Basin,and it has important academic significance for prying into the regional development path of China’s modern industrialization.
