Study On The Belief Of Goddess In Qin 'an,Gansu

Qin 'an is located in the southeast of Gansu Province and adjacent to Longdong.It has a profound historical and cultural background since ancient times.The goddess belief here has a long history and great research value.Based on the existing steles,plaques and couplets of the Jiulong Mountain Goddess Palace and Xingquan Village Goddess Temple in Qin 'an County,combined with local chronicles and collected works of local scholars,this paper makes an investigation on the goddess belief in Qin'an area on the basis of the existing research results.First of all,the goddess belief-related inscriptions,couplets,plaques,articles and other data were collated.Secondly,under the background of the belief about rain gods in the east of Gansu,it tries hard to explore the uniqueness of Qin 'an goddess belief,believing that Qin 'an goddess belief originated from Jiulong mountain god belief and originated in the yuan dynasty,and its spiritual character has experienced a continuous improvement process from the rain god to omnipotent god.The scale of the followers of the goddess belief gradually expands with the increasing content of the belief,and the organizing trend of belief groups is also increasingly obvious.The local elites hold a supportive attitude towards the goddess belief,while the government lists the goddess belief as a positive sacrifice from the perspective of "The Instructing according to Sacred Way".In addition,although Qin 'an and Longdong have a high degree of similarity in geographical environment,the difference between the goddess belief in Longdong and Qin 'an is obvious.In the end,this paper makes an investigation on the modern temple fair of Qin 'an Goddess.It is believed that a series of established rituals and procedures have been formed in the temple fair of contemporary Goddess.Among them,the constituent elements of various rituals have their own specific cultural symbols.In addition,the temple fair of Goddess has multiple functions: belief practice function,civilizing public function,civilizing connection function,entertainment function and economic function,which have important influences that cannot be ignored in the local area.
