Research On Guoxiang's Thought Of The Value Of Life

During the periods of the Wei and the Jin Dynasties,the social turmoil,the internal struggle between the ruling class were fierce,the wars occurred frequently and the living environment of the intellectuals was also becoming worse and worse.In such an environment,how could people survive the turbulent world and realize the true value of life was a pressing question that intellectuals were greatly puzzled by.The answer to that question had had reflected the meaning and the value of human lives and their concerns for individuals.Guo Xiang as the representative figure of the highest peak of metaphysics between the Wei and Jin Dynasties had proposed the idea that Mingjiao was nature with the method of integrating Confucianism and Taoism and revealed that the real world and the transcendent spiritual pursuit were in conformity with the nature.He had revealed the uniqueness and the occasion of the initial state of life by nature,demonstrating the free and independent self-sufficiency of the life-survival mode through the mechanism of self-transformation,revealing the content of the self-sufficiency of the realm of life through suiting one's nature is being free and unfettered as well as the mind state of Xuanming,the purpose was to help people to realize the value of individuals in the existing social system.At the same time,contrary to other meta physicians,Guo Xiang had tried to solve practical problems and achieved harmony between the dream and the reality.Therefore,Guo Xiang's thoughts of life 's value undoubtedly had great significance of reference for us.This article had demonstrated Guo Xiang's life value thought from the basic points of his philosophy and its corresponding concepts such as nature and life,birth and death,self-birth,self-transformation,inaction and inheritance.Having based on the text of Guo Qingpan's Annotation on Chuang Tzu in the Qing Dynasty,this article had explored Guo Xiang 's thought of life value in the sense of the modern ones in order to provide a research perspective that was different from the tradition method and to reveal the vitality of traditional thoughts.
