Escapism is an impulse that constantly springs into the human soul,a desire in human nature for adventure,the unknown,and the future.First of all,escapism is the sense of space,the individual or collective moves from one region of space to another.Secondly,escapism is a sense of spirit,it is not only a physical move,but also a mental transgression that it’s purpose is to achieve a mental brief escape in an imaginative way.Finally,escapism is the sense of philosophy,it is a means of dissatisfaction with ordinary life and resistance to absurd life.Lu Min,a Chinese contemporary writer,has aroused a lot of attentions and known for her unique style and excellent works.Her“escapism writing” surpasses normal daily life by mental escape or geographic escape.Lu Min also expresses the pursuit of spiritual civilization and the exploration of the relationship between modernization process and human destiny by her writing of escapism.For understand the deep implications of “escapism writing”,the paper will adopt the text intensive reading method,literature research method and apply literary theory to interpret the “escapism writing” while combining the writer’s life experience,literary idea and so on.The logic of this paper can be summarized by the following four questions: What is “escapism writing”?Why does “escapism writing” occur? How does “escapism writing” appear?What is the meaning of “escapism writing”?In the introduction part,the paper first summarizes the general situation of Lu Min’s creation and research status,points out theimportance of the research on the phenomenon of "escapism",and then makes a brief introduction to the concept of "escapism writing".The main body of the paper is discussed from four parts:The first part,makes a definition of "escapism writing".Combining with Lu Min’s specific creation,it explores what "escapism writing" is from three aspects,plot pattern,character action and spiritual connotation.The second,part explores the reasons for the emergence of "escapism writing".Three escape experiences in the growth process of Lu Min,the spiritual turmoil brought by the social transformation in the context of consumerism,and the creation concept that adheres to the relation between times and individuals have important influence on the emergence of "escapism writing".The third part,analyzes the deep expression of "escapism writing".Specifically,the uncertainty of self-construction and lack of self-identity.The fourth part,starts with the form to discuss how the non-realistic narrative mode fits with the theme of "escapism",what new qualities are injected into the "escapism writing" by the narrative form of typed novels,and how to position the value of Lu Min’s novels from the perspective of intergenerational comparison.
