English curriculum standards for ordinary senior high school(2017 edition)and The Outline of Mid-long Development of Education(2010-2020)emphasize that students' autonomous inquiry-based ability should be improved and cultivated in the teaching process,so that students can establish the concept of lifelong learning,master the learning methods,and learn how to learn.This paper combines with the local education present situation,based on the importance of autonomous inquiry-based ability and the problems existing in English reading,the author designed to cultivate students' autonomous inquiry-based ability of English reading teaching methods,take the student as the main body,caused by students' reading interest,stimulate students' inquiry learning motivation,ultimately to cultivate and improve students' autonomous inquiry-based ability.In this paper,there are 64 students were selected as experimental subjects and the teaching experiment mainly adopts the experimental method and the action research method.It is mainly used to verify the following hypotheses: Firstly,students' autonomous inquiry-based ability can be improved by designing instructional design based on autonomous inquiry-based.Secondly,the design of the guided learning plan has a significant effect on the cultivation and improvement of students' autonomous inquiry-based ability.The result of the experiment shows that the reading teaching method of cultivating students' autonomous inquiry-based ability is effective.The paired samples test for reading competence in pre-test and post-test sig.(2-tailed)is.555<.01,it shows that the reading teaching mode based on autonomous inquiry-based improves students' reading score.Based on the experiment result,this paper also puts forward six suggestions for the cultivation of students' autonomous inquiry-based ability in the future.In addition,although the teaching experiment has been successed,this paper also has some deficiencies and areas for improvement in the process of the experiment.
