Study On The Humanistic Buddhism Institution Reform And Its Social Engagement

Since modern times when Chinese Buddhism was confronted with all-round modernization and reform,the development and evolution of Buddhism religious institution and its social engagement mode were important aspects of Buddhism research.At the same time,the arrangement of this aspect is of great significance to strengthen the systematic construction of Buddhism itself,the adaptation of Buddhism to modern society and the re-awakening of the excellent traditional Chinese culture.This paper mainly makes an exploratory attempt on the reform of religious institution and the historical evolution of social participation from Taixu's "Life Buddhism" to Xingyun's "Humanistic Buddhism",as well as a comparative study on the development direction of Buddhism in the future.At the same time,the "Taixu-Xingyun model" is regarded as a whole,and the practice of contemporary human Buddhism represented by it is the crystallization of the constant change and fusion of the relationship between religion and society in the past century.The improvement of religious institution and social engagement from Taixu to Xingyun not only provide a model for the institutionalization and modernization of Buddhism,but also enrich and enlighten the institution construction of Buddhism in the future.As for the overall structure of this paper,in the first chapter introduction,it explains the origin of the topic and summarizes the research history and current situation related to the topic,explains the possible research value and significance of this paper,and also expounds the perspective and methodology of this paper.The second chapter focuses on the "Taixu model" in the face of Buddhism under the background of internal problems and foreign invasion of the specific reform of the teaching system and some preliminary social links.The third chapter discusses in detail the relatively mature "Xingyun model" human Buddhism organizational system reform and innovation and under the influence of Taixu in a larger range of social engagement and interaction.The fourth chapter expounds the social participation and influence of "Taixu-Xingyun model" and its active attitude transition.Chapter five is a dynamic comparative study comparing the innovations and modernity of the Taixu and Xingyun model.At the same time,it is observed that the Xingyun model,as the carrier and disseminator of the Taixu in the contemporary era,keeps innovating and advancing with The Times.The conclusion part,combined with the text research,summarizes the "Taixu-Xingyun model" Buddhism system and its social engagement track and innovation,and finds the feasible direction and dimension of the future Buddhism institution and social engagement from the comparative research.At the same time,this paper explains the limitations of this research,and based on the current situation,it looks into how Chinese Buddhism in the new era and the new situation should be in the improvement of the institution and social interaction for better reference.
