Kiyozawa Kiyoshi was a commentator and liberal of modern Japan.His commentary related to national politics,economy,education and culture.This paper mainly discusses Kiyozawa Kiyoshi's Perception of China between the First World War and the Second World War.Before the September 18 th Incident,Kiyozawa Kiyoshi believed that modern China should be viewed from both political and economic aspects.China was divided into industrious people and tyrannical government.Led by this conception,he advocated that Japan should pursue international coordinated diplomacy,Implement trade liberalism,be cautious about the interests of Manchuria and Mongolia.After the September 18 th Incident,he acquiesced in the existence of Manchukuo,tried to coordinate the national contradictions between China and Japan,constracted an equal world order by putting forward the idea of re-dividing the world colonies.The spirit of liberalism he advocated was ultimately difficult to achieve.
