A Study Of The Performance Of Pipa Concerto Clouds And Flowers

Inspired by a famous poem titled Qingpingyue by Li Bai,a poet in the Tang Dynasty,the Pipa work Clouds and Flowers expresses pathetic and touching affections.By studying and analyzing the performing videos of two performers,Zhao Cong and Jiang Yang,Zhao Cong's playing techniques and stage performance and Jiang Yang's treatment of timbre and playing speed and strength are summarized,with a view to providing reference for other performers who are going to perform this work.In the meantime,by means of the analysis on the modern works performed by two young performers,it arouses the consideration of me on the performance of traditional Pipa works,which have differences among genres and the performance of modern Pipa works,which have no genre and but have creative space for a second time,so that it puts forward in this paper that the performance of traditional Pipa works should be loyal to the genre,while the performance of modern Pipa works should focus on the innovation and diversification.
