Fu baoshi's artistic achievements in landscape painting came from his study on tradition,his compatibility and absorption of the artistic nutrition of other countries and nations,his experience of society and life,and his profound culture,which are closely related to his rich life experience.He was born a family of umbrella repairer,and from hie early age he contacted enlightenment of painting of some imitations of an ancient painting.During the study of foundation courses at Jiangxi No.1 Normal School,he noticed works and theory of Shi Tao.From then,Fu Baoshi quickly became a learner and researcher from a lover of Chinese painting.He facsimiled the works of Shi Tao and “The Four Masters”,which formed traditional basis of the language evolution of following painting style(Sanbi Cun).When he was young,he was recommended by Xu Beihong to study in Japan,and attend the imperial fine arts school of Japan,he studied Oriental art history following his tutor Kinbara Seigo,he also had a systematic study of the subjects such as painting and sculpture.In Japan,Fu Baoshi met Guo Moruo and some influential Japanese painters,he was infected by them.The painting styles of Japanese painters such as Yokoyama Taikan and Takeiuchi Seihou influenced Fu Baoshi and gradually changed his painting habits and patterns.In the mid-1930 s,after returning from Japan,Fu Baoshi worked in the Art Department of the School of Education of National Central University and the third department of the National Military Council,and latter he returned back to National Central University to teach.During the Anti-Japanese War,Fu Baoshi lived in Jingangpo,Shajaba,Chongqing.The natural scene in Chongqing made him deeply infected,he changed hie painting style greatly,therefore formed a unique style.Sanbi Cun created the typical language of his landscape painting by using hard and fine strokes,which made a significant breakthrough in the art of landscape painting.After the founding of the People's Republic of China,Fu Baoshi's status became more and more important in the work of art and national construction of the People's Republic of China.He responded to Chairman Mao Zedong's call for "Literature and Arts serve for people," carried out the creation of landscape paintings adapted to the new society.He put the reform of Chinese paintings into practice,and adapted to the new era with new contents,new themes and newforms,in order to meet the needs of the leadership of the Communist Party of China,meet the needs of literary and artistic work in New China,and to meet the needs of the people's art appreciation,to create numerous new ideas,and vivid techniques of landscape painting works.Fu baoshi's landscape painting has its unique language characteristics from chapter form to point dyeing and even to ink painting.He absorbed the qualities of many people,absorbed the essence of foreign culture,sucked the nutrition of traditional and foreign culture.He insisted on the innovation of Chinese painting thought and action,created with a distinctive personal characteristics of the painting style(Sanbi Cun).He combined the Cun with ink and color,which mixed the dry and wet,virtual and real,rigid and soft.It had greatly expanded the expressive power of Chinese landscape painting,and had given the works a powerful visual effect and the characteristics of the times.Fu Baoshi had a profound research on the history of Chinese painting,writing books,translating classics,and physically promoting the research on the history of landscape painting.The combination of theory and practice had played a positive role in his creation and artistic innovation of landscape painting,so that his creation was guaranteed to be successful with the support of theoretical thoughts.At the same time,Fu Baoshi also engaged in art education,inspired further studying,trained a large number of art talents,and made an outstanding contribution to the inheritance of Chinese painting and the establishment and perfection of higher art education in China.Fu Baoshi was a researcher of Chinese painting theory,and he was also the practitioners of traditional Chinese painting creation and innovation.Besides,he was also the promoter of the development of Jiangsu and national traditional Chinese painting.He worked hard,cultivated talents,set up art creation institutions,organized painters to create paintings.He led the creation of Chinese painting towards the direction of meeting the socialist literary and artistic standards and the needs of the people,and made unremitting efforts for the cultural construction of new China.In the process of studying the painting style(Sanbi Cun)of Fu Baoshi's landscape painting,I was deeply infected,and was deeply impressed by Fu Baoshi's infinite love for our motherland,the study spirit of Chinese culture,and the feeling of a kind of broad mind.I felt a kind of majestic spirit,the traditional precipitation and life breath of his works,which deepened the understanding of the relationship between tradition and life,strengthened the experience of the blending of Chinese traditional culture and foreign culture,enriched their own landscape painting creation experience.
