In high school,English writing is a basic skill that high school students must possess.Students' writing level can truly reflect their comprehensive English ability. However, for most high school students, various types of errors in writing are inevitable. And grammatical errors occur relatively frequently compared with other errors. Therefore,it is necessary to research the grammatical errors in high school students' English writing,so that learners can find and effectively avoid the error-prone points in their writings and improve their English writing ability.Based on the theory of error analysis, this paper uses the writing texts of students from Yan'an Shiyan middle school in Shaanxi Province as the analysis sample, which is from the last part of the monthly English exam of this semester, and analyzes the morphological errors and syntactic errors in high school students' English writing. This study mainly answers the following two questions:(1)What are the types and distribution of morphological errors in high school students' English writing?(2)What are the types and distribution of syntactic errors in high school students' English writing? In order to answer the above questions, this study collects 286 articles which are from 157 high school students from three classes of Yan'an Shiyan middle school. After uploading these text to the Pigai System to analysis the types and proportions of morphological and syntactic errors, which will be analyzed by using Excel statistical software to conclude the high frequency error vocabulary appearing in the 995 grammatical error examples, the author finally find out the reasons in terms of the interlingual and intralingual factors. The following are the findings of the study:(1)According to the results of morphological errors in students' composition: the errors of singular and plural nouns are the most prominent errors.Secondly, the ellipsis of the article “a” or “an” before some content words and “the” with meaning.Thirdly, verb usage errors mainly focus on non-predicate verb errors and transitivity errors of predicate verbs. The rest are the misusing of pronouns, prepositions, adjective and adverbs.(2)According to the results of syntactic errors in students' composition: the number of errors in subjective-object structure is the most prominent, mainly focus on the subject-segment inconsistency when the subject is singular, which followed by the lack of conjunctions that represent progression and causality. There are relatively few temporal errors, mainly due to the inconsistency of the predicate verb tense and the inconsistency of the verb tense and the temporal adverbial. The research results show that the morphological errors are more than syntactic errors, and the number of errors in subjective-object structure occurs most frequently among all the grammatical errors. As for the source of these errors, the occurrence of these errors is mainly interfered by both interlingual and intralingual factors. The following are teaching enlightenment: teachers should strengthen grammar teaching;teachers should teach English writing based on the differences between English and Chinese to reduce the negative transfer of mother tongue;and also should make full use of the convenience of information technology to create an open English writing learning platform for students.
