Humorous words are the witty looms we speak everyday.As a language form,it is widely used in life.As an important stage in the history of Chinese culture,homonym was widely used in daily life by scholars in the Northern Song Dynasty.However,as a group with high cultural accomplishment,there are many examples of the use of humorous language in life,and quite a few of them are recorded as interesting stories of literatiundefineds life.Records of homophonic words can be found in officialdom,banqueting,drinking,and daily trivialities,either in officialdom,in banquets,or in daily trivia.Through the study of this kind of homonym,we can have a deeper understanding of the life of the scholar class in the Northern Song Dynasty.The scholars of the Northern Song Dynasty often use homonym in their daily life,official experience and social communication.Therefore,the various homonyms discovered from the literature can reflect the different aspects of the life of the scholars in the Northern Song Dynasty.The homonym used by the scholar class in the Northern Song Dynasty can be divided into different types according to different standards,such as dialogue,duality,(haiku)poetry and so on,according to the different literary genres and rhetorical styles,and according to their functions,they can be divided into jokes.Type of satire,admonition,etc.From the perspective of communication,the influence of homonym on the scholars in the Northern Song Dynasty has both positive and negative aspects.Both historical and literary texts of the Northern Song Dynasty are rich in content,historical value and literary value,which provide a lot of materials for us to study the social reality and literary achievements at that time.
