Since ?inggis qa' an established the Yeke mon?ol ulus,it is very important to establish the Khan successor of the mon?ol ruler.The Yeke mon?ol ulus according to the old system,namely “brother and brother,uncle and nephew ”on the basis of the establishment of Khan succession.After the founding of the Yuan Dynasty,Qubilai practiced the system of eldest son succession of the Central Plains Dynasty.After Qubilai established the crown prince in Han Dynasty,he set up the Donggong for him.Every crown prince since then has had his own Donggong institution.Depending on the emperor,each crown prince had a different Donggong structure.Thus led to the Yuan Dynasty Donggong institutions numerous.The Donggong institution set up by the Yuan Emperor for the crown prince had its own unique functions and characteristics.The main function of Donggong institution in Yuan Dynasty was to undertake the education of crown prince.In addition,itwas the institution by which the emperor consolidated his power.It is also an important way for the crown prince to expand his power and participate in politics.This paper is divided into three chapters,the first chapter discusses the succession of the emperor in the period of the Yeke mon?ol ulus and the Yuan Dynasty.The second chapter is an overview of the establish and abolition of the Donggong in the Yuan Dynasty,to make up for the omissions of previous studies.Chapter three explores the educational problems of the crown prince and the political functions of the three crown princes in the Donggong,namely,Zhenjin,Ayurbar-wada,Ayusiridara,and summarizes the functions and characteristics of the institutions of the Donggong in the Yuan Dynasty.
