Hesse's first anthology Romantische Lieder clearly shows the natural connection between himself and the romantic literature tradition. He had comprehensively studied the German romanticism and its influence during the apprenticeship in the bookstore, and had published relevant reviews in German and Swiss newspapers. Thus,Hesse and romantic literature have been closely linked. The first chapter, starting from the combination of the origins of Hesse and Neo-Romanticism,puts forward a new research perspective by defining the style of Hesse's new Romanticism and exploring the unique new romanticism in his works Characteristics. The second chapter excavates the three themes of "nature, childhood and art" in Hesse' s novels, and constructs the unique ideas of Hesse, showing a romantic perspective of "the view of nature","the view of childhood" and "the view of art".Through textual analysis,we can find that the above three views are the recurring themes of Hesse's works, reflecting the characteristics of the Trinity, which are interrelated and influential on each other.Hesse's nature is divided into the inner nature and the external nature. His view of nature is the combination of human nature, reason and divinity.Through careful textual analysis, the paper found that Hesse is good at shaping the image of the son of nature in Peter Carmen Green,in which Peter's growth is developed by dialogues between internal and external nature. At the same time,Hesse' s view of nature is not a simple escape from the reality, nor the desire to return to the past, but the real return to the original state according to the inner call back to sincerity and the finding of the lost home The paper further discusses how Hesse inherited and employed the spirit of Romanticism to build the connection between the real world and human introversion. In the third chapter, based on the analysis of the creation of the novels such as Demian and Der Steppenwolf, the paper discusses the shaping of the "bipolar" hero image in Hesse's works, the unique debating psychological dialogue of Hesse's new Romanticism, and the creation of the three aesthetic characteristics with magical color in Hesse ' s new discourse. The fourth chapter focuses on the historical and cultural background of Hesse. It demonstrates how Hesse draws on the spiritual characteristics and philosophical ideology of German romantic literature, and further sublimates on the basis of inheritance.Furthermore, based on the analysis of The Glass Bead Game, this chapter concludes that Hesse is a real lookout of the integration of Eastern and Western culture and builds a bridge to connect the East and the West through absorbing ancient Eastern philosophy. In conclusion,Hesse is profoundly influenced by the romantic literature and inherits the traditions of Nova Lore and other romantic predecessors.Combing different disciplines and learning from the ideology and culture of the East,Hesse achieves the unity of spirit and nature, and the combination of the romance and the classics. Thus,Hesse has created a number of works full of new romantic features, which are high praised and adored by readers from all over the world.
