Research For Local Chronicles Of Fuzhou In Ming Dynasty

This paper mainly focuses on local chronicles of Fuzhou in Ming dynasty.Local chronicles,which means general Annals in narrow sense,also refers to special recording and comprehensive recording.First,we briefly summarized the evolution of administrative divisions of ancient Fuzhou.And based on the main historic features of Fuzhou,we came up with almost complete and detailed statistics about the existence and disappearance of local chronicles of Fuzhou in Ming dynasty using statistical analysis method,thus summarized the trend of the development of compiling record of Fuzhou.Taking into account the special historical background in Ming dynasty,we concluded the four reasons that influenced the prosperous development of local chronicles of Fuzhou in Ming dynasty:the strong calls from the royal government,the positive response of local officials,the culture prosperity in Ming and enough sources of financing and technology.Also,we explored and evaluated the author's life,the background,the existing collection,the systems,the volumes and contents of eleven existed general Annals,and talked about their values and deficiencies.Based on the above analysis,we finally came up with the three characteristics of the compiling of local chronicles of Fuzhou in Ming:the appearance of chronicle families,the newly added examples of chronicles and approval system.Moreover,to better improve the future work,we also summarize and evaluate the existing and disappearing of special recording and comprehensive recording of Fuzhou in Ming dynasty,as well as the records and literature description of the disappearing ones.
