"Trash Club" Celebrating Meaninglessness

Through a fictional story the play Trash Club focuses on mental crisis of the modern society.The play aims to raise people's thinking about current life by showing lives of different losers.It expresses the author's tolerance and understanding of modern human dilemmas.The moon has been recognized by us as a natural satellite of the earth,is a huge spaceship,on which our true ancestors are living,and they've been watching changes of the earth.The original distant planet where human beings lived was destroyed because of numbers of ultimate wars,only a small group of people survived,drove the mothership and found the earth,there,they started the human being from zero.The captain visits the earth each 3000 years,he has appointed an observer who's been living among the people on earth,tonight,the observer will report to the captain about the current situation of human beings.The impetuous observer is distressed by the current human condition and feel pessimistic and disappointed with the emptiness and numbness of humanity.He thinks it is time for the captain to plague the world so as to awaken human beings,awaken their sense of survival,and purify the world by eliminating some of the rubbish.Therefore,the observer opened a Trash Club to present the lives and mental crisis of modern humans to the captain and selected some typical characters:a middle-aged man who complained about life but did not make any changes;a female doctor who lost enthusiasm and pessimism about academics;A young girl who is obsessed with consuming and dating with strangers;a convenience store boy who openly accepts that he is a junk as a fact.They drank the wines that the observer had prepared for them to tell the truth.As they read about themselves,they constantly open up all aspects of their inner worlds.Each one of them is a contradictory complex.Under the surfaces of their trash lives,hides all kinds of psychological cruxes,secret experience or special good.The observer was gradually impressed by these statements,and his sympathy and understanding for human beings are so that developed.He saw far-off similarities from these humans.They all had the same confusion and loneliness.He saw the value of human survival that he considered to be "junk." So he requested the captain to ignore the terrible suggestion from the beginning.The captain of the moon mothership,the wise old man,had long seen through everything.He comprehends all the human beings who were imperfect.The end mentioned the pointlessness of the world,people have to survive above the ruin of the world.Even human beings who are trash must continue to survive and this process is his significance as an individual.People who have lost their minds when they drink too much,choose to use a carnival to paralyze nerves and try to use vanity against vanity,but when they feel the end of the world will come,they changed,lonely people warm up each other,the boy and the girl fall in love;The man thinks of his wife and child;the female doctor who lost passions starts to feel that being alive is a meaning.The last words of the old captain told people not to cling to the search of meaning but cherish every moment.The work intentionally negates the structure of traditional drama,cancels the plots and conventional drama conflicts that people usually understand,it uses fragmented form to deliver an appropriate figure to absurdity and emptiness.Based on systematically grasping drama theory,the script interpretation Celebrating Meaninglessness analyzed and expounded the origins and intentions of the work Trash Club and its character settings,drama features,value significance,and inadequacies to create thinking.
