A Study On College Students' Mental Crisis Coping Method And Its Influential Factors

At present age, the psychological problems of college students take place often, and the mental crisis of them is serious. One of key points which impact the development of mental crisis is coping method. This paper adopts questionnaire-investigating means to probe into the differences of crisis coping method and its influential factor. The testees of survey were randomly selected form Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, which them provided 445 available questionnaires to author for analyzing .The whole questionnaire includes 4 parts: the questionnaires of crisis frangibility and crisis coping method, EPQ and SSRS.The main results of study is as follow:(1) The degree of college students'crisis frangibility is in the middle, that shows most of them can pass crisis situation successfully. The first college students'choice of crisis coping method is expectation, the second is controlling emotion, and the third is dealing with problems.(2) There are notable differences in major, sex and where-from. Art students get higher score than medical students and science&engineering student on expectation , controlling emotion; females get higher score than males on controlling emotion, and males are higher than females on dealing with problems; the students who come from city get higher score than students from country on seeking support, controlling emotion.(3)The relation between dealing-with-problem, seeking-support, controlling-emotion, expectation and crisis frangibility is negative correlation; dealing-with-problem and EPQE are positive correlation, and EPQP, EPQN are negative correlation; expectation and EPQE, EPQN are positive correlation, it and EPQP are negative correlation; controlling-emotion and EPQE are positive correlation, it and EPQP are negative correlation; dealing-with-problem, seeking-support and objective support, subjective support, the use rate of support, the total score of social support are positive correlation; expectation and the use rate of support, the total score of social support are positive correlation; controlling-emotion and objective support,the use rate of support the total score of social support are positive correlation; crisis frangibility and each dimensionality of social support are positive correlation; it and EPQP, EPQN are positive correlation, it and EPQE are negative correlation.(4) Four kinds of crisis coping method as explaining variable, and crisis frangibility, each dimensionality of personality feature, social support as explained variable, they are calculated by regression analysis. The result shows that crisis frangibility, EPQP, EPQE and the use rate of support can forecast dealing-with-problem partly; EPQL, EPQP, EPQN, EPQE, crisis frangibility, the use rate of support can forecast expectation partly; crisis frangibility, the use rate of support, EPQL, EPQP, EPQE, EPQN can forecast seeking support partly; EPQE ,EPQL, EPQP can forecast seeking controlling emotion partly.
