The linguistic features of Chinese academic writing are comprehensive and complicated contents of research.The thesis built two large corpus with 1000 articles totally,and each of them has 500 articles.One includes the academic papers and academic periodicals from 2012 to the present of humanities and social sciences category.The other includes the literary style novels and magazines from the 2012 to the present.The thesis quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed the academic papers and academic periodicals of humanities and social sciences category and the literary style novels and magazines by utilizing Douglas Biber's multidimensional analysis,and the linguistic features of Chinese academic discourses suggested by other researchers.The research method of this thesis is that after collecting a large amount of data,we used a random sample by SPSS22.0.And then we processed native data format from PDF,CAJ to Word,Text,annotations,charts and references,and only the Chinese abstract,text and acknowledge part of the paper are retained.Then,we use HLPIR Chinese word segmentation system to segment words.After the participle,we use Text Analysis to classify the multiple language features in the statistical text.Finally,the differences between the academic and recreational articles are calculated by the statistical analysis of SPSS22.0.There are 111 features of the Chinese language,of which we found 103 language features in the statistical significance.This further illustrates that the academic writting has its own linguistic features.Moreover,the classification of Chinese language features based on the results of this study will be an important indicator of academic writing.Meanwhile,the author also expect that the thesis could enhance pertinence and effectiveness in teaching of writing,in order to make it more effective for foreign students to complete their theses.
