In her half-century creation career,British writer Doris Lessing has written more than 30 novels without stopping, including African colonies, gender relations and space novels. In the grand narrative of history, the marginal subject of aphasia can realize the possibility of speaking history and self-expression,which also opens a bridge for modern people to understand themselves more thoroughly. The purpose of this paper is to explore the marginal identity of marginal men from the perspectives of gender relations,Christian perspective and existentialism, not only the living conditions of individuals, but also others. The society and the times are closely related. Therefore, with the study of the image of the marginal men as the entry point,Lessing's philosophy on the crisis of the times, civilization and survival of modern popele can be summed up.The introduction part would summarize the research situation of the edge of Doris Lessing's novels at home and abroad, and sorts out the origin, development and rheology of the concept of marginal men.Based on the introduction, the main body of this paper is divided into four parts:the first part mainly analyzes the marginal situation of the women who are not free in the gender relationship. In the gender relationship, the traditional women and the modern women are faced with different identity crises. In the collective unconscious of patriarchal culture, traditional women have lost their consciousness of self-gender value, and their understanding of gender relations is even more lacking and vague, while social status and economic factors have put traditional women on the edge of absolute existence. The marginality of modern women in gender relations is mainly embodied in their attachment to men in spirit, that is,their own sexual consciousness is not free.In addition, the plight of modern women is also restricted by the chronic illness of traditional culture. The second part focuses on the marginal situation of men, male as the vested interests of patriarchal culture, but also the victim,in the gender relationship, the male will be reduced to marginal existence. The third part analyzes the marginal people from the perspective of Christianity. The marginal men in Lessing's novels generally present the contradiction of abandoning and desiring the traditional religious beliefs. On the one hand, the marginal people abandon the traditional religious beliefs to regulate individual behavior,on the other hand, the marginal men who have abandoned the religious beliefs are unable to get personal spiritual satisfaction in the meta-narrative of rational civilization. The individual can not obtain life security in the modern civilization of rationalism tradition, and then shows a strong desire for Christian care. The fourth part analyzes the marginal men from the perspective of existentialism, based on the analysis of the first three parts, the fourth part summarizes and sublimates the full text. The marginal men in Lessing's novels seek their own identity in the grand narration and try to deconstruct the marginality.Under the discourse of rationality philosophy and subject the marginal men inherit the grand narration of history. The awakening of the marginal people in consciousness and the resistance in action as the heterogeneity symbol of the grand narrative totality, ask the legitimacy of the modern civilized order, promote the historical change and advance.
