Chinese classroom activities is an important part of Chinese language teaching,and most of time,it was decided by the teachers.But for the students,whether the activities are useful for them and whether teachers' chooses are match with students' views,this is one of the purposes of this essay.Then compared with younger students,college students seemingly behaved more silent in class,but actually apparently silence doesn't mean they didn't participate in class.So another purpose of this essay is to realize Thai college students' participation pattern in Chinese class.During the study,questionnaire and interview are used to investigate Thai Chinese learners' views on classroom activities and their participation pattern in four universities.The survey result suggest there are differences and similarities between Chinese teacher's choose and students' views.The similarity is both teachers and students prefer activities with teacher as the leading role,and the differences are most of time teachers are like to use communicative activities,students are tend to like collective activities.As for the participation pattern,Thai college students' participation in Chinese class is good as a whole,and they prefer non-verbal activity to verbal activity.In addition,the essay also studied the effect of cognitive style to students' view on classroom activities and participation pattern.The result shows the effect is limited but the preference of different cognitive style students and their behaviors on class participation also reflects the characteristics of different cognitive.After analysis the result,the essay also put forward some teaching strategies to improve students' participation and point out the new direction to make effort.
