As an important symbol to distinguish other people's emotions,facial expressions greatly promote people's non-verbal social interactions.In the evolution process,the human brain is sensitive to perceptual threat-related stimuli,and also exhibits different processing mode for stimulating information with different motivational meanings.Although previous study has found that facial expressions with different valences have three-stage processing in the attention time dimension,it did not specifically explore different types of negative faces.In view of the fact that existing researches focus on the characteristics of attention and perceptual processing time related to different negative emotions on the spatial not time dimension.Therefore,this study used high time resolution evented-related potential techniques to explore temporal dynamics which affect different motives and threatening negative facial expressions processing,enhance the perception of negative facial expressions and help individuals better avoid risks.In the first experiment,the rapid sequence visual paradigm was used to examine the opposite motivation negative expressions of anger and fear expressions.The behavioral results find that interval main effect still exists even negative expressions that are significantly different in motivational tendency The ERP results show that,unlike the early automatic processing of negative emotions,when the face stimulus types are anger and fear expressions with significantly different directional directionalities,neutral faces induce a larger P1 amplitude than the fear expression.The N170 amplitude under anger and fear conditions is more negative than neutral conditions.Fear expressions induce larger LPP components than anger and neutral expressions.The second experiment adopted the same paradigm as experiment 1 and selected negative expressions of disgust and sadness with opposite threat degree.The behavioral results only find the attention blink effect of different threatening negative face processing.The ERP results showed,although the emotional face differences on the P1 amplitude are not found,N170 amplitude was larger in the sad and disgust not neutral conditions.Late LPP components show attention bias toward the threatening stimuli,that is,the LPP amplitude under disgust expressions is larger than sad and neutral faces in short interval.In summary,the conclusions are as follows:1?Different motivational tendency negative face processing is divided into three stages.The first stage is neutral expression relative recognition advantage caused by less attention resource,the second stage is the differentiation between the negative emotion and neutral face and the third stage shows the more obvious advantage effect of the avoid fear emotion.2?In terms of disgust and sad negative emotions,there only exist time dimensional features of threatening stimuli attention bias,reflecting the motivational attention and visual bias of attention resources to disgust threatening expressions in the late processing stage.
