The Effect Of Display Time And Background On The Action Recognition In The Scene

Scene is the real-world where we lived in.Scene perception focuses on how people perceive and process real-world information.Action recognition is an important part of scene recognition.Recognition the actions of others' correctly plays an important role in the life of people.The real scene contains two components,the background and the object.For the action recognition,two kinds of background information are formed: the background-object relationship and the object-object relationship.Action recognition was not only influenced by background-object relationship,also was related to object-object relationship.In addition,the study of scene perception often focus on the time course,that is,how people's perception processes perform at different time,and explores the mechanism of perception.Therefore,this study explores whether two kinds of background information influence the action recognition at different time when people look at real-world scene pictures.Study 1 selects scene pictures with or without background-object relationship and pictures with or without object-object relationship.Study 1 try to explore how two information affects the action recognition when people saw pictures in sufficient time.Experiment 1 uses two sets of scene pictures that differ only in the context of whether the background-object relationship is included.Experiment 1 want to explore the influence of the background-object relationship on the action recognition;Experiment 2 uses two sets of scene pictures that differ only in the context of whether the object-object relationship is included.Experiment 2 want to know how the relationship of the object-object effect the action recognition.The study found that the background-object relationship affects the time of observation for people.Subjects spent more time watching the scene picture with background-object relationship.Object-object relationship affects the accuracy of people,subjects got a higher accuracy when they looked at the pictures with object-object relationship.Study 2 explore the recognition results when the picture presentation time is 20 ms or 120 ms.Combining Study 1 and Study 2,it is analyzed whether the recognition results from 20 ms to 120 ms are different from the recognition results from 120 ms to sufficient time.Through the comparison of the research results,how the two background informations affect the action recognition in two time intervals respectively.Experiment 3 uses two sets of scene pictures that differ only in the context of whether the background-object relationship is included.Experiment 3 want to explore the influence of the background-object relationship on action recognition when the observation time is 20 ms or 120 ms respectively.Experiment 4 uses two sets of scene pictures that differ only in the context of whether the object-object relationship is included.Experiment 4 want to study the influence of the object-object relationship on the action recognition when the observation time is 20 ms or 120 ms respectively.The study found that:(1)The relationship of background-object and object-object can affect the action recognition in real scenes.(2)A quick recognition can be found in action recognition in the scene.(3)The relationship of background-object reduces the judgment response and improves the accuracy between 20 ms and 120 ms.The relationship of background-object increases the judgment response and no effect on the accuracy rate after 120 ms.(4)The relationship of object-object has no effect on the judgment reaction,and improve the accuracy.
