Research On Li Dingchao's Longyou Dialect

Li Dingchao's Longyou Dialect written in 1929 is a very important monograph on northwest dialect literature.No one has systematically studied this book so far.This paper mainly introduces the linguistic and documentation science value of this book.The first chapter is the introduction,summarizes the research situation of Longyou Dialect,and explains the research content,research methods and research significance of this paper.The research methods used in this paper are comparative methods,ancient books sorting methods,and textual research methods.The second chapter introduces Li Dingchao's life,works and the content and style of Longyou Dialect.We finds that in addition to the Longyou Dialect,Li's handed down works are also Diaect of Gansu Tongzhi Manuscript.The linguistic value of Longyou Dialect is mainly reflected in vocabulary,so the third chapter summarizes the vocabulary comparison method of this book and studies the specific application of comparative method in the evolution of meaning.By means of synchronic and diachronic comparison,Li makes a comparative study of ancient Chinese,the common language of the Republic of China and the dialect of the Republic of China,and explores the similarities and differences,inheritance and development of language.This has something in common with the "big triangular comparison" of modern Chinese dialectology.This method of vocabulary comparison is worth learning.Li uses the comparative method to study the expansion,reduction and transfer of word meaning,which is helpful to the study of the evolution of word meanings.The fourth chapter is the linguistic value of Longyou Dialect.This book has important value of documentation in the study of Gansu dialect.The book attaches great importance to looking for etymological character of a word,and the research methods and achievements in this field are worth referring,such as paying attention to phonology,citing rich literature examples,and paying attention to language comparison.This book explores the origin of the name of things and the source of the meaning of words,outlines the process of cognate differentiation,links the synchronic and diachronic cognates,and enriches the study of etymology.This book is also helpful to the revision of the Hanyu Fangyan Da Cidian.The fifth chapter is the value of documentation science of Longyou Dialect.Li has unique opinions on the annotation and collation of ancient books.
