A Study On The Regional And Variation Characteristics Of Loanwords In A Dictionary Of Huayu

This paper takes "A Dictionary of Huayu" as the research object and tries to expand the research depth and breadth of Chinese words in the overseas Chinese community.Under the perspective of regional variation and interaction,this paper further explores the loanwords in Chinese and analyses the influences and the variation characteristics of languages between different languages,investigate from another angle-mandarin,surrounding the language structure and semantic change.Lastly combine with words spread and cross-regional common use to further describe and explain the interactions between "Chinese dialects",for the purpose to focus on understanding of Chinese words used by Chinese community,moreover promote the research of the overseas Chinese community words variation.Under the guidance of language contact theory and sociolinguistics theory,this paper makes statistical statement,analyses,describes and concludes loanwords in the dictionary using diachronic and synchronic aspect,both language internal and language external of Chinese are taking into account.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part is the Introduction.First,elaborates the background and significance of the research,then systematically sorts out the current research status of "A Dictionary of Huayu",language contact and language variation,and finally introduces the research object,research method and theoretical basis of this paper.The second part is The Loanwords in A Dictionary of Huayu.This part firstly analyzes the borrowing ways of words,then make a further analysis of the convergence of regional foreign language.The third part is Analysis of Regional Characteristics of Loanwords.This part divides Chinese community into four regions:mainland China,Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan,Singapore,Thailand,United States and Canada to analyze the characteristics of words.After that,we analyses the external influencial factors and internal common characteristics of semantic regions of the regional characteristics of loanwords.The fourth part is Structural Variation Characteristics of Loanwords.This part finds out characteristics of word-formation and the variation of phonetic structures acoording to the variation of word formation and pronunciation.The fifth part is Overseas Chinese Dissemination and Regional Interaction.In this part,we will focus on "the Greater Chinese" to discuss the interaction and communication between Chinese and other language,and carries out research on the interaction and communication of diffent dialects.The sixth part is Conclusion.This part introduces the main content of this paper,points out the innovations,which is this paper combines the social application,grammar and cultural aspects to carry out a more comprehensive study of loanwords and indicates the shortcomings to improve in the futre at the same time.
