As a national cultural heritage, plaque not only has the beauty of decoration, but also serves as a warning and Enlightenment function. However,at present, academic circles pay less attention to plaque. As a provincial cultural relic protection unit,Xiamen Castle still keeps a considerable number of plaques of Ming and Qing Dynasties. Most of them hang above the gate of the castle courtyard, ancestral temple or residence. It has high cultural and artistic value and is an important part of the culture of Xiamen Castle.Based on the material data of the existing plaques in the Ming and Qing dynasties of Xiamen ancient castle, the author combines field visits and literature review, and through the study of the cultural connotation of the plaques in the ancient castle, restores the social features of the people at that time. The article has sorted out 81 plaques of Ming and Qing dynasties in Xiamen ancient castle, which are all over the castle and have various styles. They are classified into different categories according to the material, content and function of the plaques.According to the building material of the plaque,it can be divided into wooden plaque, stone plaque and brick plaque.According to the content of the plaque,it can be divided into identity identification, warning and education, praise and praise, pray for good fortune and luck.In addition, the ancient castle plaque has the function of instruction, religion, morality and table. On this basis,it explores the cultural connotations contained in the plaque, such as the culture of cultivation and reading in the plaque: while farming and operating, the Liang family pays attention to education, there are students in the sixth generation, and supervisors in the eighth generation. In order to continue the family of Shuxiang, the plaque encourages the descendants to rejuvenate Confucianism and prosper their families, and to serve as officials and honored families with the words of "Wuyi","Wenkui" and "Yuxiu".At the same time, the Liang family took the family motto of "Xingren pays attention to filial piety, reform thin and preserve loyalty" as a yardstick to regulate people's will to act,in order to achieve the ultimate goal of virtue, which is the concentrated reflection of Confucianism in the plaque.Plaques such as "the happiest for the good" and "the most dedicated Bozhou" in the ancient castle were given by the court personally because of the eagerness of Liang's descendants, righteousness and moral integrity, which also reflected to a certain extent the extensiveness of the Qing Dynasty's table system in content;the auspicious words and patterns on the ancient castle plaque were very extensive in content and varied in form and implication, which conveyed the people's pursuit of a peaceful and stable life in the ancient castle.Seek and yearn.
