Chinese traditional architecture developed well in Ming and Qing Dynasties, the development of the most flourishing period of architectural decorative reached an unprecedented prosperity. Henan is located in the hinterland of the Central Plains, a long history and culture, with the development of commodity economy, a large number of civil buildings such as temples, business hall, residential construction have been greatly enhanced and wood as a form of architectural decoration, whether in the carving or decorative features, style patterns are rich and varied subject matter.The value of decorative patterns is the symbolic significance and profound meaning, architectural decoration sign is the most effective way to express the traditional building arts and rich cultural connotations. This papers revealed Henan's civil construction wood carving decorative patterns rich cultural connotations in Ming and Qing Dynasty by analysis of patterns, or characters the story, or auspicious animals and plants, or objects and text, combined with Henan traditional Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism culture and business culture, as well as the profound emotion and simple farming culture expression, different sculptures in different materials, different color themes in different ways Shih, but this is precisely the one meaning auspicious theme is to express the Henan people to pursue happiness, peace, a magic weapon, it reflects a deep cultural heritage in Henan region, ethnic beliefs, aesthetic and ideological concepts.Through analysis of the style of wood carving patterns characteristics and artistic characteristics, as well as regional architectural style and other characteristics of the comparison papers revealed the Ming and Qing Dynasty in Henan's folk carvings decorative patterns in maintaining the simple and honest, rustic style, even introject the organic integration of the Central Plains neighboring provinces of Henan cultural characteristics, showing a variety of integration featuresm,combined with immediate development of the times trends, the diversity of the use of new materials, whichever is shaped into spirit, and this will have a profound edification for modern decorative design .
