In recent years,as China has entered the decisive stage of building a moderately prosperous society in in all respects and embarked on the new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way,the goal of "Healthy People,Healthy China"has also met the new requirements in the new era.In addition,such livelihood issue as medical and health care has always been the focus of attention.The state attaches great importance to it and the people care about it,so all kinds of media naturally turn their attention to this field.At the moment,a large number of TV programs,films and TV plays and documentary works on medical subjects have been created.The intensive presentation of medical images has aroused high attention and extensive discussion from all walks of life.The prosperity of the industry also promotes the academic community to focus on this type of documentary.This study from the perspective of narrative ethics,with outstanding representative of Chinese medical documentary REN JIAN SHI as an example,according to the theories of ethics,semiotics,linguistics and others comprehensively,using film analysis and case study research methods,gives REN JIAN SHI a specific and in-depth analysis and research,revealing the work features and development status of our country’s current medical documentaies,and looking forward to the future of narrative creation and ethical expression in Chinese medical documentaries.This paper is mainly divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.On the basis of introducing the research background,research problems and significance,this paper starts from the four themes of narrative ethics,medical documentaries,documentary ethics and documentary creation to summarize relevant works and journal articles.The second chapter examines the medical documentaries from the macro level:vertically,China’s medical documentaries are deeply affected by the overall environment of the development of documentaries,and have gone through three stages of starting,development and prosperity.Horizontally,it compares the characteristics of American,British and Japanese medical documentaries and their influences on China’s medical documentaries.The third chapter from the micro level studies the narrative ethics of story elements in REN JIAN SHI,on the basis of analyzing the documentary topic and social mapping,reveals the film full of respect and pursuit for natural bioethics,spiritual bioethics and emotional ethics these three individual ethics,and medical industry ethics,humanitarian these two collective ethics.The fourth and fifth chapters analyze the narrative ethics of narrating elements in REN JIAN SHI.The fourth chapter,starting from the narration,summarizes the narrative perspective,strategy and structural characteristics of REN JIAN SHI,and proposes that these narrative methods play a role in strengthening,promoting and breaking through the ethical elucidation of the documentary.The fifth chapter starts from the analysis of audio-visual language,and holds that the film’s diversified and comprehensive application of image modeling,shooting techniques,sound,editing and other means not only reflects the documentary’s documentary quality and artistic beauty,but also makes up for the expression of medical ethics,life ethics,documentary creation ethics and other ethical connotations in the film.Finally,based on the above analysis of the narrative ethics of REN JIAN SHI,the sixth chapter summarizes the narrative mechanism characteristics of the film creation,the implicit ethical connotation as well as the shortage of the film,and from the macro level,discusses the problems of narrative creation and ethical expression that our country’s medical documentaries should pay attention to,so as to propose possible future directions of our country medical documentary films.Based on REN JIAN SHI,the outstanding medical documentary in our country as a case,this paper chooses the medical documentary which is in the most difficult ethical dilemma to do the narrative ethics analysis,both for medical documentary film creation providing a new train of thought,also for the introduction of documentary narrative ethics research carrying on the beneficial attempt.
