Research On The Traditional Funeral Dance-"Quebi" Of Yi People In Qujing

Since ancient times,in the Baidong area of the Baiyi people,a tribe of the Yi people,who claimed to be NASUPO in the eastern Yunnan Province.The funeral custom of holding song and dance activities and making funerals to show sacrifices has been spreading in villages where elderly people died.The form of song and dance varies from region to region.The Yi people in Chuxiong Prefecture are called "stepping on the ground".The Yi people in Fuyuan County are called "turning ga","dancing ghosts" and "rubbing maggots".The Yi people in Qilin District of Qujing City are called "Quebi".Compared with other areas,because Qujing is located in the hinterland of the mainland.It was once the center of the reign of “Cuan family”,known as the important town in eastern Yunnan.The political,economic and cultural exchanges between the Yi and the Han nationality have been frequent since ancient times.With the increasing influence of the Han culture,the Yi people and other ethnic minorities have undergone great changes after accepting the advanced culture of the Han people in many aspects.However,their folk songs and dances and ancient customs still maintain their primitive features and inherit their own national characteristics.Therefore,this article takes the traditional funeral dance “Quebi” of the Yi people in the Qilin area as the research object.Quebi dance originated from the folk funeral rites,which was attached to the original simple belief of the immortality of the soul of the Yi ancestors and ancestor worship more than a thousand years ago.Then it gradually developed into a dance type with multiple themes of thanksgiving to the ancestors,inheriting morality,enlightenment,respect for life and praise for future generations..Therefore,on the one hand,this thesis explores the possibility of the occurrence of the dance from the history and culture of the funeral customs of the Yi people and the funeral dance of the Yi people.The funeral ceremony is indispensable for the original field produced by the dance.It is necessary to conduct an objective and true interpretation of the traditional funeral rituals of the Yi people in the Longdong area,and to analyze and summarize the original form and significance of the dance in the funeral rites.On the other hand,as a cultural form,dance is bound to develop and change in the process of historical deduction.It is indeed more than the development and reflection of the development of dance in the contemporary era,so that the performance and motivation of the transformation is better than the dance.This paper explores the research value of Yi traditional funeral dance and its extensive influence on the inheritance and development of excellent traditional folk culture by using both historical and current perspectives.
