In the mid-1920s,Peking University had three weekly magazines,namely,<Yusi><Modern Review>and<Mengjin>.<Yusi>tends to be prose creation,forming a unique "language";<Modern Review>is inclusive,covering all aspects of law,economy,politics,literature,etc.;<Meng)in>is sharp and rhyming,social reality A fierce attack.Most of them inherited the anti-traditional spirit of the "May 4th"New Culture Movement,and at the same time they also conformed to the trend of the times of saving the country and enlightenment.After the May 30th tragedy,the writers of the three weekly magazines published articles criticizing the atrocities of imperialism.They pleaded with suggestions,advocated boycotting the British and Japanese,and advocated strikes.They hoped to take the opportunity to negotiate with Western powers and eliminate inequality.The treaty returns the sovereignty of our country.However,the methods they have proposed to solve the Shanghai case are different.<Yusi>emphasizes enlightenment,rethinking the shortcomings of China's own culture through the lessons of the powers invading China,and hopes to awaken the "slavish thoughts" through enlightenment.The people,they and a few awake people together to resist foreign aggressor;<Modern Review>advocates the use of rational means to solve the Shanghai case,they hope that the government can negotiate with the United Kingdom,through the cancellation of unequal treaties to solve the Shanghai case;<Mengjin>although advocated The economy is dead,but it emphasizes not giving up the means of war.If Britain is obsessed with aggression and invades China,China will use war to fight him.Whether it is<Modern Review>,<Yusi>or<Mengjin>,in the May Five Period,they all adhered to their belief in opposing imperialism and provided public support for the settlement of the Shanghai case.
