China's Cultural Soft Power And The Materialization Of The Chinese Dream

As China's economic presence in Latin America increases,so does its need for the government to maintain favorable relations with Latin-American citizens.An empirical case study about the work realized by the Confucius Institute of Santo Tomas University in Chile shows how China is using the promotion of language and culture as a tool for enhancing Soft Power and legitimizing its image in Chile and Latin America.Borrowing theories of Soft Power and China's Cultural Soft Power,this paper analyzes the role of the Confucius Institute of Santo Tomas University in the materialization of the Chinese Dream.
