Creativity refers to the ability to invent and create new products of social or personal significance. The development of children' s creativity in primary school is generally on the rise, and they have a certain self-understanding of whether they are creative or not,and whether they can show their creativity in doing a thing.Creative self-concept is of great significance to the development of creativity. However,it is not clear when children have a clear understanding of creativity and the development trend and characteristics of creative self-concept.Based on this, the current study selected children aged 8-11 years old, through two studies,to explore when children can make a clear definition of creativity and the characteristics of the development of creative self-concept.Through case interview and questionnaire survey, the first study explores when children can clearly define the concept of creativity and its development characteristics. In the case interview, some children in the eight-year-old group,nine-year-old group and ten-year-old group were selected for interview,to investigate when children can make a clearer definition of creativity. The results showed that creativity could not be clearly defined in 8-year-old children, but in 9-year-old children. Therefore, children aged 9,10 and 11 were selected and the creative self-concept scale was used to explore the characteristics of children's creative self-concept development. The results showed that the creative self-concept score of children aged 9 was significantly lower than that of children aged 10 and 11,and there was no significant difference between the two groups. The second study aimed at the development characteristics of creative self-concept of 9-11 years old children,to explore whether children can use creative self-concept to distinguish between self and others. In the second study, primary school students were used as subjects, and the experimental materials were creative personality traits words.A mixed design of 3(age: 9,10,11)? 3(encoding conditions: self, others, and font)was used.Age group was the inter-group variable, encoding conditions were the intra-group variable, and the dependent variable index was the response time and recognition rate. The results showed that there were significant differences in response time and recognition rate between 9-11 years old children under the condition of self-encoding and other-encoding.Under the condition of self-encoding,the response time is short and the recognition rate is high, while the response time and recognition rate are 1ow under the condition of others' encoding, which shows the advantage of memorizing words of creative personality traits, indicating that children aged 9-11 can distinguish themselves from others by creative self-concept.Based on the analysis of the two research results, the following conclusions are drawn from the current study:(1)The age of 9 is an important period for the development of children's creativity concept cognition and creative self-concept.Children around the age of 9 can make a clear definition of creativity. From the age of 10,the development of children's creative self-concept is relatively stable.(2)9-11 years-old children can distinguish between self and others by creative self-concept.
