The own-age effect of face processing refers to the phenomenon that the recognition and memory of the same-age faces of individuals are better than those of other age groups.Other-race effect is related to the fact that people's recognition and memory of their own faces are better than those of other races. As we all know, our country is a multi-ethnic country. When members of different nationalities interact with each other, what impact does own-age effect have on the interaction between different nationalities? Is there a cross-cultural ethnic differences in the "own-age effect" of face processing? In this study,Uygur and Han faces were selected as stimulus materials, and the learning-recognition paradigm was used to explore the above problems by combining behavioral experiments with eye movement analysis techniques. The study included a behavioral experiment and an eye movement experiment. The behavioral experiment explored the visual processing characteristics of Han youth in identifying faces of Uygur and Han nationalities by investigating the discrimination and response bias of Han youth in identifying faces of Uygur and Han nationalities at different age stages in the experimental test stage. The results showed that the discrimination and response bias of Han students in identifying faces were significantly higher than those of Uygur students. The discrimination of faces of young Han people is significantly higher than that of young Uygur people, and the discrimination of faces of young Uygur people is significantly lower than that of children and elderly people of Uygur.Eye movement experiment adopts the "learning-recognition" paradigm and applies the principle of eye movement tracking to examine the browsing patterns of Han youth when they passively browse face pictures of their native and Uygur nationalities at three different ages. The results showed that the gaze time of Han people was significantly longer than that of Uygur people, the gaze time of young people was significantly longer than that of children and old people, the gaze times of young people were significantly more than that ofchildren and old people. It was analyzed that face was divided into three regions of interest: eyes, nose and mouth. The results showed that when someone gazed at faces, regardless of nationality or age,the largest number of times and length of gaze was nose, followed by eyes, and the least was the mouth.Under the experimental conditions of this study, the following two conclusions can be drawn: firstly, when individuals identify their own faces and Uygur faces, there also exists other-race effect, but due to the influence of cultural background and environment,other-race effect is not strong;secondly, the age effect is not universal in all age groups and ethnic alienation.
