Reflections at Red Cliff--To the Tune of Niannujiao is a famous classical Chinese Ci-poetry written by Su-Shi,a well-known poet in Northern Song or Earlier Song Dynasty(960-1127).Qingzhu and ATang,two composers respectively composed for the Ci-poetry.The former created Dajiangdongqu by western composition techniques,while the later created Reflections at Red Cliff--To the Tune of Niannujiao by Chinese folk mode.The two works are both of great momentum.This paper objectively analyzed the two works from the following four parts.The first part introduces Su-Shi and the contents of Reflections at Red Cliff--To the Tune of Niannujiao;The second part successively elaborates Qingzhu and Atang and their works,then compares the two works from lyrics,tonality,accompaniment and harmony.The third part consists of the following three points: the first point explores the details of practicing of singing,singing style and skills for singing,the artistic treatment of timbre,volume and tone,expression of motions,rendering of mood.The second point interprets the common in the two works and the last point expounds the characteristic expression of the two works from their own musical features.The paper analyzes Dajiangdongqu from a combination of lots of musical term marks and pauses and practicing of singing,while elaborates the scene showed from Reflections at Red Cliff--To the Tune of Niannujiao by analyzing changes of several tone speed and repetition of lyrics.The last part of the paper explains the thoughts of practicing singing different songs excerpted from the same classical Chinese Ci-poetry.Based on the research of the works excerpted from same classical Chinese Ci-poetry,a conclusion can be drawn that exact expression of thoughts and emotions of the musical works can be showed by viewing the works relatively separately and finding their commonness and individuality from music ontology.
