A Brief Discussion On The Role Of Line Drawing In Fine Brushwork Flower-bird Painting

Line drawing art is the essence and main form of expression of Chinese painting.It has a history of thousands of years.From the patterns of colored pottery in the primitive period to silk paintings preserved in qin and han dynasties,it can be seen that line drawing has experienced a change from primitive simplicity to delicacy.During the two song dynasties,li gonglin created a paper-based ink and white painting,and his work "five horses" was vivid in form with appropriate shade of ink.Zhao mengjian's daffodil scrolls have become an independent work of flower and bird line painting art.In the Ming dynasty,Chen hongshou further innovates the traditional flower and bird line painting art,which is delicate and contains the flavor of freehand brushwork and full of decorative interest.Influenced by Chen hongshou,the modern and contemporary painter Chen zifen's line-drawing art advocates sketching from nature to show his flowers in a myriad of gestures.Looking back at the historical evolution,the line sketch is the source of the fine brushwork flower bird creation,is one kind of modeling and the emotion expression way,it has endowed the unique esthetic value and the artistic characteristic.From the traditional dynamic observation of "wandering eyes" to the static sketching of landscape painting,line-drawing has a profound influence on the innovation of flower-and-bird painting,which should be inherited and developed.This paper takes the line sketch as the main research direction.Firstly,it reviews the development of line sketch art and summarizes the historical evolution of line sketch art.Secondly,this paper studies the artistic characteristics of representative painting works of flowers and birds,and expounds the inspiration of line painting and sketching to the composition form and color rules in the creation of "xiao" series.At last,through line drawing and sketching,I analyzed and reflected on the appearance of flowers,the distribution of points,lines and planes,and the formal beauty of space cloth.I studied the previous techniques of line drawing,explored the composition form of line drawing in contemporary meticulous flower-and-bird painting,so as to express the unique painting language in xiao series.
