Filler plays a major role in communication,but for foreigners who study Japanese,the functions of Japanese fillers are hard to understand.It is a big problem for foreigners who study Japanese to speak Japanese naturally.Moreover,"Aino" and"eat" are often used in daily life,but it is important to investigate the use of two words.Based on the previous study,we have collected many male,male,female,female.female,female,male,female,female,female,and female.According to Chie Yamane(2002),filler divided into 14 categories.The number of occurrences of the COSO type and vowel type is the highest,occupying more than half,and the highest appearance rate in the utterance head is vowel type,the following is the kosoa type,the high type,and the Marshall type,etc.The highest rate of appearance during utterance is the kosoa type,the vowel type,the merge,the eject type,and the Naka type.The highest appearance rate at the end of the utterance is the high type,the following is the kosoa type,and the Naka type.This study examined the function of the filler by the appearance position.The filler in the utterance head has the function of expressing the mental attitude of the speaker,the maintenance of the utterance authority,the correction of the previous utterance,the cutting off of the utterance,the clarification of the speech boundary,and the like.The filler in the utterance has the function of the utterance of the listener,and the function of the utterance development,the interlock,the contents search,the time earning,and the softening theory.The filler at the end of the utterance has the function of terminating the utterance.This study focused on the examples of "Aino" and "ate"."Anno" is used in the case of exiting the utterance,before speaking of an appropriate expression,and talking to the other party when searching for the appropriate expression.On the other hand,the "eat" is used in the case of filling between the breathlessness before the examination of the number,the Enslish before,and the appropriate content."Aino"has a strong interpersonal relationship than "ate".In addition,"Aino" is easy to be used in "format retrieval",while "ate" is easy to be used in content retrieval.
