Using China Gate Of John Adams As An Example To Analyse Performance Style Of Minimal Music

This thesis mainly focused on explaining how to play musical pieces of minimalist composers.By analysing the background of the time of composition,composer John Adams of musical piece China Gate,and its harmonic and musical form;comparing its difference from classical music,the author using China Gate as an example,raises her own opinions and experiences of performing such piano work.She also hopes to provide future performers of this work with the necessary materials and methods.Since more study of contemporary music should be needed in Chinese music research,the author wishes to use this article to contribute some of her own analyses for any future studies.
